The Reason We Select 316 Stainless Steel
We decided to manufacture Lock Security from 316 Stainless Steel and not 304 Stainless Steel because 316 Stainless Steel has additional benefits.
316 Stainless Steel is used to manufacturer products that need to resist corrosive environments. Some of these include:
- Tanks and storage vessels for corrosive liquids.
- Specialised process equipment in the chemical, food, paper, mining, pharmaceutical and petroleum industries.
- Architectural applications in highly corrosive environments.
- Any location where there is sea water vapour in the air.
- Any location where there is corrosive pollutants in the air.
- Any location where the temperature goes below zero or the opposite in extremely hot and humid locations.
316 Stainless Steel is used in all the above and other locations because it DOES NOT require an external finish applied to the surface to withstand corrosive liquids, pollutants, heat, cold or sea water vapour.

Why Not Make Lock Security From Mild Steel
Although Mild Steel is between one fifth to one quarter the cost of 316 Stainless Steel to purchase, Mild Steel rusts very quick especially near sea water vapour.

Why not use Mild Steel and Powder Coat it?
Answer, it would not matter if we did Powder Coat Mild Steel because due to how Lock Security is used it will get marks on it and one small clip in the Powder Coating will allow dampness to creep under the Powder Coating then rust appears.
We believe purchases of Lock Security will not mind paying a little extra for a security device that:
- Will withstand corrosive liquids, pollutants, heat, cold and sea water vapour.
- Can be used in any environment.
- Does not require an external finish.
- Will last a lifetime.

Construction
Lock Security is manufactured from 316 Stainless Steel and the shape is cut on a CNC cutting machine. This ensures the highest quality of workmanship, precise measurements and quality control procedures for each Lock Security.
- Next the edges are de-burred, then the two parts are bent to 90 degrees to create the shape of Lock Security.
- Next both pieces are welded together on the edges and finally buffed to remove the marks made during the manufacturing process.
Please Note: We cannot guarantee each Lock Security will be completely mark free.
There are NO bolts or screws used in the construction of Lock Security.
Nothing to came loose or get lost.

Consider Replacing Your Mild Steel Chain
with 10mm diameter High Tensile Chain. WHY? Being proactive making a decision to purchase Lock Security to protect your Padlock from the three methods used by a thief to break a Padlock, is the first stage. The second is, if you are using Mild Steel Chain and a Padlock to protect your asset you should be aware Mild Steel Chain can be easily and quickly cut with a Bolt Cutter or Hack Saw therefore you should seriously consider purchasing 10mm diameter High Tensile Chain.
